About Us

About Seattle MESA

Seattle MESA (Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement) provides middle and high school students, teachers, and parents, innovative, hands-on opportunities in mathematics, basic and applied sciences, and engineering. With a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) focus, we successfully target and prepare underrepresented minorities, women, and economically prone students to pursue STEM degrees and careers.

Mission

To prepare underrepresented students (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Pacific Islander, women, and economically disadvantaged) for higher education and STEM careers.

Vision

We will end “under” representation in the (STEM) fields through education, opportunities, and partnerships.

What We Do

Seattle MESA helps K-12 students excel in Math and Science, and become eligible for the most rigorous colleges and universities nationwide. We partner with teachers, administrators, school district officials, and industry representatives to provide this academic enrichment model. Students are selected to participate in Seattle MESA through a process that involves teachers at participating schools and MESA personnel.
